About us
Most eyewear is designed for one moment — the one in the photo. Atelier No.4 started from a different question: what does a frame look like if it has to work in every room you actually walk into, not just the one you planned for?
The name comes from that idea. "No.4" isn't a founding date or a flagship store — it's a standard. The fourth version of anything is usually the one where all the unnecessary parts have been removed and only the essential ones are left. That's what we build toward with every frame: nothing added for the sake of looking finished, nothing missing that would make it fall apart under real use.
We take our references from two places that don't usually sit in the same sentence. One is old money — the kind of quiet, inherited confidence that never needs to explain itself, built on materials and construction meant to last decades, not seasons. The other is the after-hours — backstage, low light, the version of a night where the room is paying attention whether you asked it to or not. Most eyewear picks one. We build for both, because most people actually live in both.
That means hand-finished detailing where it matters, hinges and materials chosen for how they hold up over years of wear, and silhouettes that don't chase a trend cycle because they were never trying to. No logos across the temple. No name you have to explain to someone who asks. Just a frame that does the same job a good name does — it says something before you do.
Atelier No.4 is still early. What we're building is a small, deliberate collection of frames — not a warehouse of options, a house point of view. Every piece that carries the name is one we're willing to stand behind completely, because there isn't yet a large catalog to hide an average one inside.
Quiet enough for the boardroom. Sharp enough for the night after.
